Hey yall, got a (kinda) small update for ya.

To start, just wanted to say a big thank you to all who’ve watched and enjoyed Nostalgic Nightmare. The few comments made were heartwarming to hear, and I’m truly grateful for them. They give me hope for my art career.

With that said, I still want to continue this story, but with the thought of making 2 more animation projects that would potentially be longer than the first, I realized my ambitions and decided to not go forward with that option.

This was my first ever real animation project. Even I knew doing so was not a good idea, especially since I did plan to add a lot of story elements, but I guess my dumbass was too stubborn to listen and just wanted to make something cool.

For those wondering, the original idea of the animations was to simply provide a glimpse into the past of the three goils plus some lore insights for the characters and the world they live in. And even though I wanted to do so through the combination of atmosphere, sound, and animation, I thought it was ultimately best to go another route.

So from now on, Despondent Anemoia will continue as a comic.

(Truth be told, it would’ve just been those 3 animations before I moved on to an actual comic that would be more fit for storytelling. Just thought doing animation first would be cool.)

Sticking with my original plan, there will be 2 parts. The first (Despondent Childhood) is a concise collection of comics (possibly around 10 chapters or less) showcasing moments of the girls’ childhood experiences, plus some additional characters soon to be told. The second (Despondent Anemoia) is the main story which will expand on the characters and the world they inhabit. It won’t be necessary to read the first part first to understand the second; it’s just to give some extra content and lore for the main story. And with the Neighbor comic being made, we’re practically a tenth of the way there. 

And that’s pretty much it for news on this series! As I said before, I’m not too great with dates or deadlines, so I’ll just be working on and posting these comics when I get the chance. I’ll be doing so here on Newgrounds and Webtoon.

In addition to this, I’ll also be opening a Patreon for direct support in this series. I’m still new to the system, so bear with me if updates go slow at first. I'll try to post exclusive content involving the comic there

And thought I'd update yall again. Sorry for not announcing a hiatus or anything. Honestly didn't see it myself.

But I'm almost done with my animation. Took a lot longer because I decided to reanimate several scenes entirely. Still in the process of doing that as I make this post. With that said, I'll update yall again soonish. Expect to see something on the art feed again.

Happy 2023 yall! Been inactive for a while, simply because of some big changes that are going on. After an exhaustingly long wait, I finally quit my old job and got a new one as a character artist PLUS some contract work for Graphic Apparel design!

I got some other big art projects planned, so look forward to that.

The animation project I mentioned in the other post is still in the works, so It'll still be another while. I'm gonna make it my goal to try and have it ready sometime this year. Ideally by mid to late summer. No promises though.

Sup fellas.

I’m no good at organizing my thoughts on posts, so I’m just gonna throw out what I can.

First off, I know I tend to go silent every now and then without much update other than the descriptions I add to some of my art posts. And even then, they’re few and far in between. I realize that that’s not the best way to keep yall up to date with what I’m doing, so I’ll try to summarize it here instead to the best I can

To simply put, I’ve just been busy with life. Trying to find a new job cuz my current one basically makes it slower for me to work on anything art related at all. I briefly mentioned it before, but to summarize, I work as a package loader, and my weak ass body just can’t take it anymore, but at the same time, I can’t just quit. I’m hoping to find something else soon so I can focus more on my art and hopefully animation…

… which is also the other reason for my silence. For those who’ve followed me for a while, you might recognize the sad little girl I tend to draw every now and then, along with links to youtube videos unveiling extra backstory to the world she lives in. As we speak, (or I guess as you’re reading this) I’m working on several animation videos that will uncover more of her little story, along with the backstory of her friends and other additional characters.

I have three “parts” planned to make. The first being focused on her, the second on her friend, and the third on her cousin. The first part is being made and will hopefully be ready soon. No promises on a release date yet. I wanna make sure this thing looks neat, but still gotta work with my limitations of animation software, so bear with me. For now, though, enjoy this little teaser image:

Finally, in general, I’ve been down in the slumps lately. I hate to be all depresso expresso, so to keep it short, I just tend to not have my days and rather just lie in my bed and feel like shit. Or play some games with my amigos (and then feel like shit). So forgive me in advance.

Think that’s all I have to say. I’ll try and post more news like this if I can, especially with the new project coming up. I got a couple of art pieces to post soon, so that’ll be fun.
